What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is convenient, face-to-face care on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Visit with one of our board-certified providers through secure video chat. Talk about your symptoms, and they can diagnose and treat common, minor medical concerns you're dealing with. They can also prescribe medication or lab work as needed.
Who can use ExpressCare Virtual?
Anyone can use ExpressCare Virtual telecare services in Washington state. You just need access to a laptop, tablet or smartphone that's connected to the internet. Providence welcomes patients with or without insurance. You don't even need to be a Providence patient.
Can my children use ExpressCare Virtual?
Yes! Patients of all ages can use ExpressCare Virtual, but parents/guardians must start the process. Set up your account first, and then you can add your child's information. Your child will show as a “minor dependent” on your account. During the visit, make sure your child is present so the provider can evaluate their status/condition.
Can I get medications called in through ExpressCare Virtual?
Yes. After diagnosing your concern and coming up with a treatment plan, your caregiver can call in a prescription to your local in-store pharmacy depending on state laws and what's medically appropriate. Providence cannot prescribe or refill controlled medications (opioid pain medication, benzodiazepines, schedule medications, etc.). You'll need to talk to your primary care provider for those refills.
What time can I schedule virtual online doctor visits?
Our board-certified Providence nurse practitioners and physician assistants are available from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Pacific Time (PT).
How can I chat with a doctor online?
ExpressCare Virtual providers are board-certified Providence nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Many also work in our local neighborhood clinics where they deliver compassionate care.
Setting up an account is a quick and easy process! Once set up, you can use your account log-in if you need another virtual visit in the future.
Will I receive an after-visit summary?
Yes, we’ll email your secure email after your visit. If you have a MyChart account, you will also receive an after-visit summary in your MyChart inbox.
